Dogs have been a part of my life for over 16 years. My family’s first dog was a beautiful Golden Retriever named Calli of Tally Ho, whose life was sadly cut short at the age of 8 due to cancer. While Calli was still with us, we added another dog to our family. His name is Grandview’s Jaeger. He is a large beautiful German Shepherd Dog (GSD). Although he is what we would call a hard-tempered, protective dog, he has a true heart of gold. Jaeger has suffered many health set-backs in his life, but thankfully with a lot of love and care, he is still with us today at the ripe ol’ age of 12.

When Jaeger turned 9, we began our search for yet another dog to add to our family, thinking it would be another GSD. We looked everywhere and were ultimately disappointed that the dog we were looking for no longer existed. We loved the spirit, the intelligence, the size and the beauty of the GSD, but we needed to find a softer more stable tempered dog now that our family had grown and there were young children around.

Somehow I stumbled upon the Shiloh Shepherds and they quickly stole my heart. These big beautiful majestic animals possessed all the qualities we loved so much in our GSD but lacked the hard/working temperaments of the GSD litters we were seeing at that time. I bought my first Shiloh, Jersey in September of 2002. She is a gorgeous bi black/tan plush coat. She quickly melted her way into our hearts and became Jaeger’s new best friend. Jersey is on her way to attaining her breed championship. She has a lot of drive and was recommended for SAR work at her litter evaluation. She is easily trained and passed her H.O.T. D.O.G. certification at 7 months old. She also passed her herding capability test with flying colors at 9 months old.

There is one thing you will hear many people say about Shilohs and that is that you can never have just one, and so in August of 2003 we added our second Shiloh. His name is Jasper and he is a beautiful large Golden Sable plush coat. He has an outstanding temperament and everyone that meets him falls in love with him. He attained his CGC with gunfire at eleven months old and his TDI certification the very next day. He is wonderful with children and has a very calm gentle disposition. Jasper is half way to attaining his breed championship. He comes from a very impressive line of Shilohs including his grandsire, Williamette Siskiyou’s Chaos one of the most titled Shilohs in our history and Jasper’s sire, the beautiful 5-star smooth coat Zion’s Angus Quinn For Cash.
